    Tibetan Terrier puppies

The Tibetan terrier is an ideal dog for anybody looking for a lovely family pet. It is a medium-sized dog that originated in Tibet. Despite its name, this breed is not a member of the terrier group. It got its name from the European travelers who first recognized it for its resemblance to the terriers. This breed was bred over 2000 years ago. It was adopted for its good luck charms, its being a great watchdog and for it making a perfect companion dog. The breed was used for herding sheep and for retrieving articles that fell below mountain sides. Today, most people adopt the San Diego Tibetan terrier puppies as family dogs.

    Description

In appearance, the Tibetan terrier puppy San Diego grows into a medium-sized and squarely proportioned dog. Its head is of medium size and has a moderate stop. The nose is black in color. The teeth make a level bite. Some breeds may also have a reverse bite where the lower teeth touch the outer surface of the upper teeth.

The eyes are dark, large and wide set. The ears are V-shaped and hang on either side of the head. The dog has a level top-line and a chest brisket that extends to the top of the elbows. The tail is well feathered and curls over the back. The back legs are longer than the front legs and the dewclaws are removed. The Tibetan terrier puppies San Diego have a double coat. The outer coat is long, straight and wavy whereas the undercoat is soft and woolly. The coat has both patterns and colors.

    Temperament

The San Diego Tibetan terrier puppies are generally brave, dedicated, intelligent and medium sized dogs. They are considered to be sweet, gentle and loving. They are always lively, fun and mild and have great agility and endurance. To bring the best of him, you need to present yourself as a strong pack leader. You need to set rules and make sure they are followed else the dog will believe itself to be the pack leader.

The breed has a deep bark that sounds like a rising siren. They do not make great watchdogs but their bark will certainly deter a break-in. When there is a strong pack leader and the dog is well trained and given enough exercises, it will be okay with both kids and pets. You need to socialize and train him from an early age.

    Health

The Tibetan terrier puppy San Diego is very flea sensitive. It is also prone to hip dysplasia and PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy).

    Care

The Tibetan terrier puppies San Diego have a lot of energy. They will need to be given regular opportunities to run so as to shed the extra energy. Daily long walks or jogs will also be helpful. The coat should be brushed every 2 to 3 days to get rid of loose hair and to prevent tangling. A bath once every week will also be great. The breed is not recommended for allergy sufferers.
