    Tibetan Mastiff Puppies

The Tibetan Mastiff is an ancient dog breed and a type of a domestic dog. It originated from the nomadic cultures of Central Asia. It is theorized to be the ancestor of the Molossus breeds. The breed began gaining worldwide popularity in the 1980s. The San Diego Tibetan Mastiff puppies still remain uncommon since there are not many breeders. Today, the dog is widely adopted as a family dog. This is because of its uniqueness and fair temperament.

    Description

The Tibetan Mastiff puppy San Diego grows into a massive, giant dog with a very sturdy bone structure. Its body is somewhat longer than it is tall. Its head is wrinkled, broad, heavy and very strong. The muzzle is broad and appears square when viewed from the side. The nose is large and black in color. The teeth make a level bite. The upper lip normally covers the lower.

The eyes of the Tibetan Mastiff puppies San Diego are somewhat slanting and almond shaped. They are medium in size and deep-set. The eye colors are in the shades of brown. The ears are V-shaped and hang forward and close to the head. The neck is very muscular and a bit arched and has a moderate dewlap. The top-line is level. The tail is curled over the dog’s back. The forelegs are straight and have feathering. The feet are cat-like and may or may not have feathering between the toes. More often than not, the dewclaws are removed.

The Tibetan Mastiff puppy San Diego has a double coat that is immense and very thick. The coat has a mane around the dog’s neck and is shorter on the head. Main coat colors are black, blue-gray and brown. The coat may have markings and shades of gold. White markings are also common.

    Temperament

The San Diego Tibetan Mastiff puppies grow into courageous, even-tempered, fearless, thoughtful and calm dogs. The dog is very loyal to the family. It will tend to bark during the night if left outside. It will be quiet indoors. In addition to that, this breed is a great flock guardian and will defend ferociously against leopards, wolves and other prey. All in all, it is easy to housebreak and will always be eager to please its master.

To bring the best traits of your pet, it is critical that you train and socialize him from an early age. It needs a pack leader that is confident and firm. It will also need proper dog communication.

    Health

The Tibetan Mastiff puppies San Diego are prone to hip dysplasia, skin conditions, ear infections and thyroid problems. The dog may also suffer from the genetic problem known as Canine Inherited Demyelinative Neuropathy. This is a fatal disorder and will be evident in puppies between the ages of 7 and 10 weeks. They will pass away in 4 months.

    Care
