    Havanese Puppies

The Havanese is one of the cutest dog breed you can adopt as a companion dog. It is a Bichon type and is currently the national dog of Cuba. This is a small sized dog breed that is quite sturdy in structure. It carries its tail high over its back. The Havanese puppies San Diego are mainly identified by their abundant coat which has long hairs. The coat comes in all colors. The dog is also identified by its springy gait. The best thing about this breed is that it is highly adaptable to almost every environment. They make great companions due to their high social needs.

    Description

The San Diego Havanese puppies are mainly toy dogs. However, it is important to note that they are not as delicate as other toy dogs. Their body is longer than it is tall. The dog has a topline that is straight but not level. The front legs are slightly shorter. The muzzle tapers somewhat to the nose and it is equal to the length of the skull. The skull has a flat top.

The eyes are dark brown and almond shaped. In modern times, any color of the coat is accepted. All in all, it is important to understand that the nose is always black. Example of colors is cream, fawn, white, brown, red, silver, black and blue. The coat may have a solid color or with markings.

The coat of the Havanese puppy San Diego has long hair. It is soft and lightweight. The coat is also considered silky. It is wavy and profuse. In spite of the breed having a double coat, the outer coat is neither coarse nor excessively dense. The undercoat may at times be absent. Some breeds will have a cottony or harsh coat that gives them an appearance that is frizzy. The coat is mainly designed to give the breed a sunshade and cooling in hot weather.

    Temperament

The San Diego Havanese puppy is playful, intelligent and easy to train. Training must be done while the dog is still young. The dog also makes it hard to housebreak. It is generally very loyal to its owner and gets particularly attached to them. It is hence not a dog for households where it has to be left alone for long. The dog is also not for kennel life.

    Health

The Havanese puppies San Diego are healthy dogs. There are, however, a few health issues you should learn of. These include retinal dysplasia, luxating patella, congenital deafness, cardiac diseases, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and hip joint disorder. Regular appoints with the vet can help avoid most of these problems.

    Care

Being a playful breed, it needs little exercises. Daily walks will suffice. The coat needs clipping and brushing at least twice every week. In training, you must identify yourself as the alpha else the dog will develop undesirable behaviors. You should not allow it to develop the small dog syndrome.
