MemberField Spaniel Puppies
If you are looking for a unique pet, the Field Spaniel might just be what you have been looking for. This is a medium sized dog that was initially developed to be a black show dog in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Initially, the breed was unpopular as a hunting dog. However, towards the middle of the 20th century, longer legged breeds were developed. The Field Spaniel puppies are widely purchased and trained to be family pets.
They have a fur that is much lighter than that of other spaniels. This breed has no undercoat. The solid coat colors may have some markings on the chest. In spite of their being patient with kids and being perfect as family dogs, they do best with a purpose like hunting or handling agility work. Failure to exercise them sufficiently leads to boredom and destructiveness.
Appearance
The San Diego Field Spaniel puppy is best distinguished by its long silky coat. This coat comes in solid colors of liver, black or roan. It is also common to find white markings on the dog’s throat and chest. Their single coat is long. There is fur feathering on the belly, chest, and ears and on the back legs. In spite of the coat not being as heavy as that of other spaniels, it requires regular grooming to prevent matting.
The skull of the Field Spaniel puppies San Diego is somewhat wider at the back than in the front. The breed has a strong muzzle and a well defined stop. The nose color is dark brown to black. The dog has a scissors bite. It has almond shaped eyes which are dark hazel to brown in color depending on the color of the coat. The ears are of medium length and set a bit below the eyes. The breed has a strong neck that is muscular. The tail might be docked or left natural.
Temperament
In general, the Field Spaniel puppies San Diego are active and robust. This is because they were redeveloped to serve as working dogs and were widely used as robust hunting dogs. Their temperament is quite pleasing. In nature, they are independent, easygoing, affectionate, intelligent and charming. Their ideal temperament makes them ideal as family dogs. They, however, need exercising, training and socialization. The San Diego Field Spaniel puppy is also good with other dogs and excellent with kids. All in all, if the owner is passive or meek, the breed will certainly become stubborn. They do well with a daily job such as hunting.
Health
The Field Spaniel puppies San Diego are generally healthy breeds. All in all, it is important to note that they are prone to ear infections and hip dysplasia.
Care
The best care is exercising the breed sufficiently. Additionally, you need to train your San Diego Field Spaniel puppy before it completely matures if you need the best behaviors. Socialization is also paramount. Long walks are sufficient when it comes to exercising. Its coat should be brushed and combed at least twice a week. It is important to note that the Field Spaniel puppies are not recommended for apartment life. They are pretty active indoors.
