    Doberman Pinscher Puppies

The Doberman Pinscher is a breed of dog that was developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann in 1890. This dog breed is the most common of all pet dogs. They are known for their high intelligence, alertness and loyalty. The breeds were once widely used as police dogs or guard dogs but they are today mostly found in homes as pets. Careful breeding has improved this dog breed and the today’s breed is both lively and energetic. They are best suit for living indoors.

Dog clubs describe the Doberman Pinscher puppies as medium sized. The breed stands at 26 to 28 inches in height. It has a square frame with its height being equal to its length. The head is in proportion to the body. When it comes to weight, there are no standards. The requirement is for the breed to have the right size for full combination of its endurance, agility and strength. The male can weigh up to 90 pounds.

There are mainly 2 color genes of the San Diego Doberman Pinscher puppies; one for black and the other for color dilution. The breed can be found in four main colors: blue, red, black and fawn. The traditional colors are black or a combination of black and rust. The coat is smooth.

It has a long tail. Often, the tail is docked. The ears are cropped 7 to 9 weeks after birth. It is not uncommon to find a breed with no cropped ears or no docked tail.

The Doberman Pinscher puppies are considered to be working dogs. However, they are a bit aggressive and ferocious. They are hence used by some people for personal protection. The dog is generally large in size, intimidating, fearless and always willing to protect the owner. As a result, some people adopted it for use as a defense, police or war dog. The modern breeders toned down the traits of the breed so that it could be adopted as a family dog. The today’s breed is intelligent, trainable and very loyal. It is also desirable for its short coat and high intelligence.

It is sociable towards people and can be trained to offer protection to the household. Even so, the breed still makes the list of the top dogs likely to show aggressiveness. All in all, with proper training and socialization, this problem has been eliminated.

The claws of the Doberman Pinscher puppies needs to be kept short, teeth brushed and dead hair removed by brushing and using knobbed rubber glove when the dog is shedding. The dog needs exercises and should never be allowed to live outdoors during winter.
