    History

Like most modern breeds in San Diego, the Airedale Terrier Puppies originated in England. It was first cited in the 19th century and was bred by mill workers in Black and tan Terrier. The breed was developed by breeding the English Bull Terrier with the Otter-hound. The idea was to create a dog that could have the stamina of handling a full day’s hunting work. The breed was designed to work hand in hand with the horse and attack vermin, ferrets and foxes. The size was suitable for following vermin even when they went underground. The Airedale Terrier San Diego can also cope with diverse conditions.

Being a large dog, it took people some time to accept the Airedale Terrier Puppies. The standards in appearance are still strict today. Its brave nature led to more breeding during World War I. At the time, it was used as a police dog by the military or as a messenger.

The undercoat is soft as opposed to the outer which is stiff and tough. The triangular shaped ears flop forward and are compact and dark.
